Prof. Ron Bacon earned his master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from the California Family Study Center (now Phillips Graduate Institute). He had previously earned a master of divinity degree while attending seminary at Andrews University, Berrien Springs, MI. He completed work on a Master of Science degree in management in 2009 at Argosy University. Prof. Bacon has worked in a diverse range of clinical settings, including substance abuse treatment facilities, employee assistance program counseling in the entertainment industry, an inter-agency diversion program for juveniles, high school guidance counseling, and as a hospital chaplain. He has recently launched a pro-active EAP program designed to help businesses improve employee retention and efficiency. He has worked as an associate pastor and has also taught graduate courses for The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Argosy University – Orange County, and Trinity College of Graduate Studies.
Prof. Bacon has maintained a private practice in San Juan Capistrano which he shares with his wife, Dr. Melody Bacon. He specializes in working with marital challenges such as diminished desire and infidelity, as well as common blended family challenges, and moody or angry teenagers.
When he’s not at work, he enjoys golfing, reading, gardening, house repair projects, playing board games with his kids, watching T.V. sports, attending church, and discussing religion, sex, and politics.
